Spring Snow Means Sewing!

works in progress….

Seems Spring 2018 means winter storms! We ended up with about 6-8 inches of snow due to drifting to clear out today. Roads seemed fine-but it was a nice day to stay in with sun shining and sew.

I am also waiting on some supply orders to come in. Usually I do one project at a time – start to finish. Today I ended up doing prep and getting 5 projects started!

Two of the projects are quilt based – cutting strips, 1/4 inch seams, free motion quilting. I bought this fabric with nothing in mind – but loved it. Yarn balls, sheep and bright colors.

Another project is trying to design with some awesome vintage children’s room circus curtains I purchased. Seeing in my mind that this one will have trim as accents. It will be a mid-size bag.

And two projects are using some hankies in a design. I folded the hankies and used some fancy stitching to a backing. I will block them and make a panel and then quilt before making into a tote bag. I am working on making the folded hanky into a bird or a butterfly. It may need some vintage buttons added too. 🙂

    1. Thank you for the kind words! We will see what the hanky creations turn out to be….thinking buttons for details to define as a bird or butterfly. 🙂
